Mission Manager
Introduction: We are a leading, national consulting firm that provides compassionate, full-spectrum emergency management services including planning and preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation services to the public and private sectors before, during and after a natural disaster or catastrophic event. Position Summary: + Job Title: Mission Manager + Full Time or Part Time: Full Time + Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Temporary + Compensation: $30-$35/hour + Travel/Location: Tallahassee, FL (on-site location) Mission of Role/Position Summary: The Mission Coordinator will serve as a part of a team providing operational and organizational management support. Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions: + Receive new resource requests and validate requests have sufficient information to be processed. + Requests additional information from requestors when needed. + Assigned missions to appropriate branch. + Responsible for coordinating, consolidating and ensuring smooth implementation of program activities and adherence to logistics, human resource, administration and security procedures. + Work with Staging and Staffing for tactical implementation of missions to support operational requests. + Be responsible for operational planning to support an escalation of activities where a greater presence is required of state capacity to manage. + Develop and present plans, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other documents to support implementation and coordination of projects. + Bi-weekly collection of survey data detailing facility needs. + Identify operational goals and objectives and create and maintain a tracking mechanism to ensure the team has awareness of progress in meeting these goals. + Engage with direct and executive client leadership to identify and maintain team awareness of priorities and status. + Manage engagement and communication with internal and external partners. + Serve as a problem solver and advisor to State partners and on-site team to improve service delivery. + Perform other duties as assigned. Expected Hours of Work: Schedule may vary and include 12 hour shifts 7/days week. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount. Travel Requirements: + Up to 50% travel is expected for this position. + Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time. Physical Demands: + Mobility required on-site with clients. + Sitting or standing for hours at a time. + Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed. + Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed. Working Environment: + Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions. + Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings. Requirements Experience/Education Required: + Familiarity and experience using WebEOC. + A dependable, responsible, detail-oriented and organized mindset + Ability to think critically and solve problems in a team environment. + Proficiency with technology and comfort with computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel programs. + At least three years of professional experience within an emergency management, project management, field operations and/or response function. + A high school diploma or GED. + ICS 100/200 Experience/Education Preferred: + A bachelor's degree in emergency management or a related field is preferred. Years of experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis, in addition to the minimum requirements. + A professional certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or other relevant certification. Additional Qualifications: + Must be 18 years of age or older. + Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US. + Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
