Description of Duties\:
The Mission Protection Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will\:
· Contribute heavily to developing, delivering, and maintaining the MDIOC Mission Assurance Plan, as well as the various processes, standards, and procedures that will comprise the MDIOC Mission Protection Handbook.
· Build, facilitate, and participate in tabletop and readiness exercises in order to mitigate risks and identify areas for improvement across different areas of expertise in the MDIOC.
· Review, author, and deliver key processes and procedures that aim to satisfy PWS and government customer requirements.
· Serve on a Mission Protection Agile Team that works together to complete government-required features and stories in quarterly sprints.
· Assist with documenting, decomposing, and deriving requirements and creating acceptance criteria and verification methodology.
· Providing recommendations based on research and analysis.
· Develop reports and presentations for stakeholders.

*Basic Requirements\:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience\: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 6 years of general experience.
· Must have 7 years of directly related experience.
· Must have 1 year of experience in management or leadership roles.
· Demonstrated presentation skills briefing senior-level leadership via Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint) and above average writing skills.
· Understanding of the IRES contract organizational structure (enterprise knowledge) in order to coordinate and enforce contract-wide policies and programs.
· Knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency, as a whole, provides robust Mission Protection Services.
· Understanding of foundational MDA doctrine that governs mission protection.
· Must have an active DOD Secret, or higher, security clearance.
Desired Requirements\:
· Possess great planning, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor in interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders, to include senior program management and senior government personnel.
· Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with stakeholder management experience.
· Understanding of strategic communications and synchronized messaging.
· Experience writing or revising plans, policies, and procedures.
· Experience doing staff work (for example\: participating in integrated planning teams, action item tracking, drafting meeting minutes, coordinating schedules, writing info papers and decision briefs).
· Working knowledge of operational risk management.
· Knowledge of the principles relating to mission essential tasks and operational readiness, such as the Defense Readiness Reporting System or Unit Status Reporting.
· Experience with developing training, readiness, and/or exercise programs.
· Familiarity with cornerstone MDA governance documents (program-level plans) and ability to extrapolate needed actions from those documents.
· Experience with audits and/or inspections.
· Understanding of maintenance operations.
· Experience gathering requirements from multiple sources to create an action plan.
· Knowledge of Missile Defense command and control, and/or MDA previous experience.
This position is expected to pay $104,000 - $129,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
