The Destination Specialist is a contractor, with guest privileges (Single Cabin)
Our Destination Specialists play an integral role in the enrichment program through educational presentations, commentary, prepared and casual talks and group settings.
Candidates must be outgoing, friendly, sociable, guest service oriented and, be extremely knowledgeable of the history, geography, ecology, and ports that we visit, plus other points of interest within the cruise itinerary. Excellent and polished presentation skills are required.
Region-specific Minimum Requirements Include: (Mississippi)
· Extensive knowledge of the Upper or Lower Mississippi (Ohio, Tennessee & Cumberland Rivers.

**The Civil War & Historic Battles **The Louisiana Purchase **Agriculture & Industry **River Navigation **Music & Culture of the region **Culinary Traditions **Native American Cultures **Mark Twain & Literature **Floods & River Management **Architecture & Historic Homes **The Civil War/ The Revolutionary War **Historic Homes **Southern Literature **Civil Rights Movement **Southern Culinary, Gardens & Horticulture. (Plus more)
Requirements:
All presentations are (45-60 mins each). 1-2 talks per day (depending on itinerary)All presentations should be supported by PowerPoint visuals.Present Viking branded talks, plus your own materialsKnowledge of local and happening per dates in portFun Facts to share – docking; shopping; walking areas; parks and “unknown” guest experience happenings.Participate in excursions daily – guest interactionDine with guestsAssist Cruise Director/Guest Services with embarkation check in (as needed)Be an ambassador of our brand – be available for social; chats and interactions with guests
