ROLE OVERVIEW 

As part of our Mississippi Administration team your job is to provide guests with friendly, personalized front-desk service at all times, including concierge onboard in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standards. You will report to the Guest Services Manager.

Onboard our ship 

Most common rotation schedule is 6 weeks on board, 2 weeks off, which includes up to 13 weeks off per year 

Lodging (shared cabin with 1 other crewmember), meals, Wi-Fi, uniforms, and laundry are free of charge for all crew members 

Travel to/from the ship provided by Viking

WHAT YOU WILL DO ON BOARD 

Serve as the primary source of information for guests, providing concierge services, according to shift schedule 

Process onboard sales transactions and operate phone switchboard, cashless system, and safety system 

Ensure smooth operation of guest infotainment system  

Plan and execute embarkation, disembarkation, and check-in/out procedures 

Maintain daily logbook and guest manifests, handle guest complaints, and prepare guest lists and invitations 

Coordinate guest travel arrangements and assist with shore excursions while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers 

ABOUT YOU 

2+ years’ experience in the scope of the Front Office department or similar at a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is an advantage 

High school diploma required, and degree with hospitality focus preferred 

Physically fit and in good health; extensive walking required and ability to stand on feet for long period of time 

Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards  

 

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS & AT WILL EMPLOYMENT: 

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations 

Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for marijuana and other controlled substances. We are a Drug-Free and Alcohol-Free workplace
