What is the role about?
Endress+Hauser’s Main Instrument Vendor (MIV) program was created to combine our word-class instruments with services and project execution knowledge to our client’s most challenging projects and ecosystems. The MIV Inspection Technician has ownership of the entire quality inspection process of instrumentation and valves that come through the MIV program. This role also is expected to be flexible to travel to other locations around the United States to help new warehouses and teams get up and running for new projects as well as oversee and managing their inspection output via digital tooling and reports.
Which tasks will you perform?
Performs inspections and functional testing of stored products against as-purchased records and logs results in a digital database. This includes management of nonconforming product through resolution. Understands, trains, and manages others on the inspection process and management of the inspection data in the digital database. Coordination and agreement on best practices and procedures are to be agreed with the MIV Warehouse Manager. Understands and highlights any gaps in physical inspection spaces including required equipment, storage space, and optimized product workflows. In the event a new space is set-up or optimizations of an old space exist – this role can help to identify and quantify closing the gap. Travel required to help support set-up and startup of new warehouse locations and teams as required for new projects. This can include a short relocation for startup and training, regular trips to check in on the team, and remote regular contact and watching of KPI’s out of the digital system to ensure processes are being followed. This role may also require flexibility to help fill out other responsibilities associated with the warehouse as necessary to handle peaks in workload.What do we expect from you?
You will have (required):
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. For items weighing more than 50 pounds, the appropriate lifting assistance is to be used. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and color vision. Regular travel for assistance in system setup for new warehousing locations will be required (20%-40% travel). Travel for check-ins can be regular with longer-term relocations (2-4 weeks) being required for the initial startup of new projects.You may have (preferred):
Previous knowledge on instrumentation and valves and field experience with these devices is a plus. Previous quality inspection experience. Forklift experience. Ability to read and understand project reports and collaborate with team members to understand project priorities. Ability to clearly and comfortably communicate with other members of the project team as well as our partner’s staff who are designated to perform inspections on certain projects. Ability to read technical specifications and/or drawing. Attention to detail and ability to methodically perform standard operating procedures. Ability to build long-term relationships with our partners – primarily our representative partners and their staff to create a repeatable warehouse and inspection program across the United States.What can you expect from us?
