Overview Shift: 5 PM - 5 AM Starting hourly rate: $25.62 Great things are happening at the Sister Schubert’s Horse Cave Campus and as we continue to grow the T. Marzetti Company is looking to hire team members who will grow with us on our journey towards world class operational excellence. The position of Mixer is responsible for mixing operations to include, delivering supplies and ingredients to mixing area according to recipe, and maintains proper production schedule, and other tasks as assigned by leadership. Actively participates in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval. Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up. Safety – Marzetti Values: Work Safely Maintains the highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards. Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility. If required for assigned tasks, successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards. As required, performs daily inspection of any applicable power equipment with proper documentation. As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving. Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identified and participates in problem solving. Ensures compliance to quality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, , OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Reviews, understands, and complies with all applicable SOPs containing Process or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained and designated as a Qualified Individual (QI). Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary. Records all information as required. Reads scales and may perform arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately. Maintains standard production quantities/rates for each product. Cleans and rinses equipment according to specified procedures. Assists in monitoring equipment to detect malfunctions; makes minor adjustments/repairs; communicates mechanical problems to maintenance. Must be able to perform mixing duties which include but are not limited to: a. Creating batches according to formulas. Adding ingredients into mixer. Running mixing cycle. Transporting mixer to chunker. Perform basic cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping. Fills in for and assists other Utilities, Mixers, Sheeting Line Operators, and Leadership as required. Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Leadership. Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records. Working Conditions/Environment: Works in a manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to push/pull 75 pounds short distances. Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Employees must inspect the condition of these items daily and replaced said items when they are no longer providing the optimal protection of the Team Member. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members & Management. Basic mechanical aptitude and good math skills are preferred. Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
