**Job Title: Chemical Mixing Technician** **Job Description** As a Chemical Mixing Technician, you will be responsible for processing raw materials and chemicals according to batch records to create the final product. This role involves operating various machines to measure raw materials, taking samples for lab quality checks, and using a crane to lift large chemical bags. You will sign off on documents to ensure the correct materials and amounts are used. This is a physical role requiring the use of a large mixing device, climbing stairs, and operating machines to monitor and control tank levels. You must be open to performing other work-related duties as assigned. Due to chemical exposure, you will wear a full uniform and respirator mask. **Responsibilities** + Process raw materials and chemicals according to batch records. + Operate machines to measure and add raw materials into tanks. + Take samples for lab quality checks. + Use a crane to lift large chemical bags. + Sign off on documents to ensure correct materials and amounts are used. + Push material out of bags using a large mixing device. + Climb stairs to access the top of tanks. + Operate machines to monitor and control tank levels. + Perform other work-related duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Ability to read batch records and recipes. + Checking balances to ensure correct amounts of raw material are added. + Measuring chemicals accurately. + Experience with machine operation, utility technician, or production technician roles. + Strong attention to detail and reporting skills. + Ability to follow instructions and work independently. + Physical strength to lift or move up to 50 pounds. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 1 year of mixing experience. + High School Diploma or GED. + Experience with RF scanners, formulation, quality control, mixer operation, scale operation, and measurement equipment. **Why Work Here?** Our family-like atmosphere creates a positive work environment where employees feel comfort and compassion from their leaders and team. Our Des Moines site has grown immensely over the last five years, adding multiple buildings while maintaining a family-like culture. **Work Environment** This is a fully on-site position in a manufacturing facility in Des Moines, Iowa, working the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, with start times between 2pm to 4pm for 8 to 10-hour shifts. The environment includes a chemical plant with potential exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and biological hazards. The dress code includes uniforms, steel-toed boots, and hair nets, and employees are required to shower after their shifts. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
