Job Description

GDIT is looking for a US Navy MK 41 Vertical Launch Systems Technician to provide technical support for GDIT's MARMC contract.

This is an onsite position

Job Description:

The technician shall provide onsite support to conduct specified engineering/technical evaluations, perform equipment functional checks, perform troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair to correct MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) faults, perform system maintenance, and installations. Technician shall be experienced with the following VLS documentation: VLS Inspections: "Launcher Certification Inspection Requirements TW394-J0-ECI-010/VLS.” The technician shall formulate and
present findings, briefings, status reports, and correspondence for all stakeholders such as TYCOM, ISEA, MARMC, and Ship’s Force.
Technician shall have a comprehensive understanding of the application of the following:
Shipboard PMS requirements PMS MIPs 7211/015, 7211/018, 7211/415, 7211/U01, and 7211/U02
Repair documentation: Cognizant ISEA issued procedures/Drawings
VLS Technical Publications: "Vertical Launching System MK 41 Mods 0/2/7/15/31" SW394-AF-MM0 Series (O and M manual).
Vertical Launching System MK 41 Mods 0/2/7/15" SW394-AF-MDB Series (NAVSEA Certified Test Director/System Maintenance Technician/VLS Advanced Technician Manual)
MK 41 Vertical Launching System Standing Instruction 86-2D, and NAVSEA Instruction 8394.2 MK 41 Launching System Safety and Design Precepts.
The technician shall perform/provide support during shipboard Combat Systems tasks including Pier Side Refurbishments, ICMP, TSRA, BMDRA, INSURV programs and
Tech Assist events. The contractor will also be required to support programmatic and liaison support of varying levels by communicating, presentation of data, conducting business, resolving scheduling and milestone date problems for the various customers. These efforts may require rapid results in a stressful environment in order to meet ship’s mission requirements.
 

Requirements:

Must be a US Citizen

Active Secret clearance or higher

Candidates shall be Certified Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT), and/or certified VLS Test Director (TD) per MK 41 Vertical Launching System Standing Instruction 86-2D

Candidates shall also be certified (NACE or SSPC/NBPI) prior to

Candidates must demonstrate six (6) years’ experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and assessing the
aforementioned VLS components, equipment, and systems.
