MNW Electrical Engineer

Mitie is looking for a dedicated and passionate static experienced electrical engineer to join an experienced, versatile Minor new works  team, delivering first-class services to our world-class Armed Forces personnel. Undertake all electrical works within the area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.  This will mean ensuring that all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date, that Health & Safety policies are adhered to, and that there is compliance with the MITIE Maintenance Business Management System as it applies to this position.

The successful candidate is required to be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels.  In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity.  Proactive and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE and company values. 

Main Duties:

Ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety and in accordance with SFG20. Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment. Record and keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work. Maintain a working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures. Undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate. Report any defects at time of service visit. Liaise with client on site and provide excellent customer service at all times. Assist other team members on works, when required. Report on all jobs, once attended. (Within 1 hour) Occasional collection of parts/goods from suppliers (Line Manager to authorise)

Person Specification:

A candidate who holds the following is desirable: City and Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent. City and Guilds in Testing and Inspection 2391 (Desirable) but training is available. IEE 18th Edition Regulations. Experience in dealing with all types of electrical installation work, within the services sector. Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required within the scope of the contract. Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults. Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems. Must hold a valid full UK driving licence.

Information Security:

Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities; Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager; Report actual and suspected security incidents; MOD security clearance and DBS Standards are required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain Security Clearance. Proof of right to work in the UK essential  The Contract operates a 40-hour working week between the hours of 0800 and 1700 Mon to Fri.    Required to wear approved company work wear.  Hold a full UK driving licence. Company Van with Fuel Card and Mobile phone will be provided.
