Mobile Apps DevOps Engineer, iOS/Android

Ford Motor Company is rapidly increasing the number of apps it publishes, both internally and externally. In this dynamic role, a successful candidate will guide various teams in launching their apps. To ensure that the apps are best in class, the candidate will be required to collaborate with a large number of app development teams and interface with regulatory teams such as Governance Boards, Cyber Security, Legal, and General Auditor’s Office. This position manages the final deployment of all mobile and in-vehicle apps for the company.

Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience The ideal candidate for this role will have 2+ years of experience in these areas: Proven ability to develop in multiple programming languages including Ruby, Python, Bash. Optional experience in development on Swift, Java and/or Kotlin. Competence in concepts such as code signing, cryptography, certificate management, secret management concepts for iOS and Android apps. Experience in the development and deployment of Android and/or iOS apps Familiarity of App Store Connect API, Play Publishing API, Microsoft Graph API, Fastlane, GitHub and Jenkins. Experience in developing automation used for deployment of apps using GitHub actions and a self-hosted runner Involvement in concurrently managing multiple apps of different typesProven experience in the development and deployment of both iOS and Android mobile apps to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Thorough understanding of Apple App Store and Google Play Store capabilities and requirements. Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, GitHub and other common app development technologies. Experience with cloud-based technologies leveraged for automation. SME level experience with iOS and Android app development and devices. Experience deploying apps to managed devices via Intune.

Implement and support deployment flows for mobile and in-vehicle apps through Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Intune Company Portal. Own and manage the Apple App Store and Google Play Store developer accounts, including securing signing keys, certificates, provisioning profiles and API keys. Suggest and develop new features/practices to meet app development teams’ needs. Use APIs of development tools to integrate and seamlessly automate releases. Support and mentor app development teams on best practices for CI/CD, cutting down manual effort and improving efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve failures/rejections, concurrently improving automation to quickly alert app development teams to such issues Handle security scans, understand security vulnerabilities and communicate the actions needed to address them. Assist business owned app teams by communicating and leading required changes of their app by the vendor. Protect Ford Motor Company developer accounts, brand reputation and improve app quality.
