**POSITION TITLE:** Mobile Crisis Response Team – Practitioner

**SUPERVISOR:** Crisis Manager
**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Mobile Crisis Response Team – Practitioner provides crisis services to children, adults, and families. The incumbent will be required to work with other community agencies, including law enforcement and hospitals, in the prevention of psychiatric hospitalization and detention by law enforcement. Services provided shall include stabilization and crisis services with the client or client's family. All services will be provided under the general supervision of the Mobile Crisis Response Team – Licensed Professional and Director of Clinical Services. Duties include answering crisis calls and responding to mental health crises in Southwestern Mental Health catchment region. Driving to the crisis location within 60 minutes of receiving the crisis call is required.
**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:**
1. Mental Health Practitioner Status obtained through education and/or experience.
2. Must have good verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
1. Will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Southwestern Mental Health Mobile Crisis Response services.
2. Provides a variety of crisis intervention or crisis prevention services in various community locations, including jails, hospitals, and private residences. Services will include crisis counseling, crisis case management, consultation, pre-admission screening and crisis intervention, transportation, and report writing.
3. Will be expected to collaborate and liaison with law enforcement officers, local hospitals, medical providers, regional outpatient clinics, and others in the planning, provision, and evaluation of these services.
4. Participates in clinical staff conferences to ensure the smooth integration and transition of clients into or between various aspects of the difference services.
5. Assists in maintaining an up-to-date Crisis Resource Directory.
6. Provides support, education, and service coordination to significant others on behalf of individuals who are receiving services from the Mobile Crisis Response Team.
7. Participates in regular meetings with other crisis intervention team personnel to coordinate cases and to review intervention outcomes as a means of enhancing the provision of future crisis intervention team services.
8. Produces client related service records and maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation consistent with agency policies and procedures.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor which are consistent with the position and in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:**
1. Ability to travel as required.
2. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
**REQUIRED ABILITIES:**

2. The employee frequently is required to ambulate within and between departments; reach with hands and arms; stoop, or kneel.
3. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb stairs.
4. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
6. Must possess the required level of skills and abilities to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
7. Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer within the Windows operating system.
8. This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
1. May be exposed to communicable diseases when working in a health care environment.
