Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan, three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business.] This position will require travel up to 10% of the time through US, Canada, and/or Mexico.
The Role
As a member of our Sustainable Workplaces Team, you will help to shape the outlook for our mobile equipment fleet inside various North American GM facilities - manufacturing, nonmanufacturing, CCA and RFOs. Key responsibilities include developing strategies for our fleets, procuring new units, providing technical assistance for fleet teams, providing guidance on safety specifications, and investigating new technologies in this field. For your portfolio, you will provide detailed analysis including future planning and forecasting while working within timing and budget constraints, potential for work efficiencies within the shop and identifying cost savings initiatives. Working with others within and external to the team, fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration to achieve our goals focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment (SPQRCE) is essential to this role. What You'll Do
Be a technical leader, mentor, collaborator, and champion of best practices for standards and policies for mobile equipment
Communicate strategies to affected stakeholders.
Participate in or prepare financial reviews, forecasting budgets, and benchmarking
Support development and adding of requirements to Supplier Agreements
Lead and support contract management tasks for with mobile equipment OEMs
Support all mobile equipment related safety concerns
Research, collect, and analyze large amounts of data to identify gaps and future trends:
Evaluate the business opportunity and application of new and emerging technologies
Translate customer experiences into clear product requirements and execution strategy, perform supporting research and analysis, prioritize product features, and drive the development schedule.
Work closely with internal teams to re-define business processes to support the strategy
Retrieve and analyze data, and establish key business metrics to measure success.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
Demonstrated Industrial Mobile Equipment knowledge
Spare parts management
Forklifts, tuggers, burden carriers, and specialty equipment
Hyster, Motrec, Crown, Caterpillar, and other equipment suppliers
Practical experience with database and spreadsheet software
Ability to take complex, ambiguous, and disorganized data from multiple sources and present it to multidisciplinary teams to make business decisions.
Proven successful experiences in Project Management
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work individually, as part of a team, or leading a team.
Self-motivated and detail-orientated
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
5+ years of Fleet Maintenance and or Fleet Management experience
Highly developed organizational and management skills and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness
Procurement and financial forecasting experience with SAP, Ariba and cTLF
Outstanding analytical and creative problem-solving skills to address complex mobile equipment challenges.
Expert knowledge of maintenance processes and procedures for mobile equipment
