About the role
Mobile Equipment Mechanic - $1,500 Sign on Bonus Eligible
Reworld Honolulu located in Kapolei, Hawaii, seeks a dedicated Mobile Equipment Mechanic who will be responsible for performing various mechanical, maintenance and repair at this essential thermomechanical treatment facility.
The Mobile Equipment Mechanic will diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other light- and heavy-operating equipment in support of the Facility’s overall operations. This position reports to the Fleet Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts to braking system, engines, fuel system, power train, electrical system and hydraulic system. Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies such as transmissions, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes. Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems. Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to identify defects. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal. Overhaul and test equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears. Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications. Dismantle and reassemble heavy-operating equipment using hoists and hand tools.Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on all facility vehicles to ensure that equipment and vehicles operate efficiently and safely. Schedule maintenance for industrial equipment and machines and keep equipment service records. Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of four years vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance experience, or two years of mechanical trade school training and two years’ experience as a vehicle and heavy equipment mechanic. Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as front-end loader and tractor/trailer. Diesel Mechanic Certification PreferredCurrent valid CDL Class A license is a plus.Position Requirements:

The expected hourly rate for this position is $32.50 - $40.70 per hour. This is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final figure will take into account a variety of factors including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
