MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 1: Class D, Chauffer’s License will be required upon appointment. The starting salary for MEO-1 is $16.06/hourly; this job title receives Premium Pay in the amount of $1.00/hour for every hour worked. Additionally, a 10% base pay increase will be granted upon attainment of permanent status. MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 2: Class A, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will be required upon appointment. The starting salary for MEO-2 is $17.18/hourly; this job title receives Premium Pay in the amount of $1.00/hour for every hour worked. Additionally, a 10% base pay increase will be granted upon attainment of permanent status. MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 1/HEAVY: Class A, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will be required upon appointment. The starting salary for MEO-1/HEAVY will be $21.05/hourly. Examples of Work 50% Operates the following heavy equipment, as needed: + Asphalt Distributor (truck mounted) + Backhoes + Front end loaders + Bucket/ladder trucks + Cranes/draglines (lifting capacity >20,000 lbs but <40,000 lbs + Dozers (<140 HP) + Dump truck (tandem axle or trailer dump) + Gradalls + Hot mix pavers (<40 HP) + Motor Grader + Lowboys + Milling machines (<90 HP) + Road planer + Road widener (<90 HP) + Sewer Cleaners (truck mounted) + Striping machines + Sweepers + Track hoes (excavators) + Under bridge inspection units (trailer mounted) 40% Operates skid steers, rollers, jet air patcher, 72+-hp tractors with 15ft. bat wing mowers, and tractor mounted slope mower. Installs and maintains temporary traffic control devices and serves as a flag person during traffic control operations. Uses a variety of hand tools such as: shovels, rakes, jackhammer, demolition saw, chain saw, string trimmer, and pole saw. Performs manual task such as pothole patching, manual cutting of bush and grass, ditch digging, cleaning buildings, assisting in mud jack operations, cutting trees, removing dead animal carcasses, collecting litter, cleaning & repairing of Asphaltic Concrete and Portland Cement Concrete Pavements as well as bridge decks, and other manual tasks as need to accomplish the department’s mission. 5% Performs minor repairs, services, preventative maintenance, and cleans equipment in accordance with operator’s manual and manufacture’s recommendations to keep equipment operating efficiently and safely. 5% May be required to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
