The Role
As a Mobile Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping our stores safe, operational, and well-maintained. Working across a designated cluster of retail stores, you’ll carry out planned maintenance and respond to urgent repairs, ensuring our retail estate is in top condition.
What You’ll Be Doing
Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Visit stores to complete repairs, including basic plumbing, joinery, plastering, tiling, painting, flooring repairs, 1st-line electrical faults, lamp replacements, and appliance repairs.Store & Equipment Checks: Conduct scheduled inspections (e.g., PAT testing, fire alarm & security system checks).Minor Works & Installations: Fit shelving, install vehicle bollards, replace fixtures & fittings, and maintain building fabric.Health & Safety Compliance: Complete maintenance logs, ensure all work meets H&S standards, and oversee subcontractors when required.Facilities Stock Control: Ensure our regional depot is stocked with essential fixtures & fittings.Supporting Store Openings: Assist with store fit-outs, maintenance support, and occasional overnight stays (fully expensed).
What We’re Looking For
2+ years’ experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a trade (plumbing, electrical, joinery, decorating, flooring, etc.).Basic electrical knowledge (a qualification in PAT testing or electrical competency is ideal, but training may be provided).Experience working with fire alarms, security systems, and general property maintenance.Ability to work independently, manage your workload efficiently, and communicate effectively with subcontractors.IT literate and comfortable using a tablet for job logging.Full UK driving licence & willingness to travel across your designated region.Flexible to work occasional weekends or overnight stays when required.
