**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Position Purpose:** Mobility techs (MT) are individuals with specialized training who provide safe movement and ambulation to patients during their hospital stay to promote the highest level of patient mobility. A MT is part of an innovative program that collaborates with multiple other disciplines to deliver optimal patient care, while utilizing the specialized training from the physical and occupational therapy teams. The primary role of the MT is to use standardized assessment tools to assign a mobility level to patients and then carry out corresponding mobility interventions. A MTs goal is to promote a culture of safe mobility, earlier and progressively, to prevent patient deconditioning, and help patients return home at their highest level of function. **What you will do:** + Deliver exceptional patient care per department standard workflow to ensure all patients have an opportunity for safe activity and mobilization. + Become nursing unit expert and resource for the TUG+BMAT safe patient handling tool to ensure safe patient mobility and proper use of equipment on the inpatient nursing units. + Mobilize patients daily according to BMAT recommendations. + Monitors patient symptoms and vital signs during mobility tasks to ensure tolerance and safety. + Collaborates and works closely with other staff for management of lines, tubes, equipment and/or patients that require extra assistance. **Schedule:** Day shifts with some flexibility in scheduling. No weekends or holidays. This position is 36 hours per week. **Minimum Qualifications:** Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of formal Nurse Aide Course (training verified transcript or original program certificate of completion) or 6 months in other medical profession is preferred. Experience: previous experience in a rehab or healthcare setting, specifically experience with safe patient handling is preferred. An understanding of basic medical terminology is preferred.
