WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Modification Shop Lead to join our team. This role will be responsible for all motor modification shop activities and personnel. The correct candidate will be able to drive team performance to meet team goals, ensure the shop is properly supplied, ensure all equipment is within calibration requirements, manage team schedules, provide training and guidance to junior technicians, set workload assignments for the team, prioritize work to meet customer demands, and communicate any issues with the department manager.
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of low voltage AC motors. Proficient in using systems and engineering tools that are used for quotations, order entry, and analysis of customer performance data. Ability to handle manual and power tools. Understand and follow safety procedures. Familiar with modification procedures. Familiar with the inventory control system. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong knowledge of industry certification requirements. Strong mechanical aptitude.Primary Responsibilities:
Modify electric motors as per customer specification. Perform investigation of returned motors and prepare written reports on issue Work with visiting engineers and QA personnel to evaluate possible factory issues Be proficient enough with Word and Excel to produce reports and track activities performed in the Mod shop Test motors to ensure operation following modification. Work in conjunction with the warehouse manager to insure proper placement of modified motors in inventory. Actively mentors and facilitates professional development among the team members. Facilitates training initiatives for the Mod Shop team and other employee teams to promote efficient and collaborative work practices. Assists Mod Shop Manager with workforce management (hiring needs, separations, etc.).Experience:
