Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Modality Specialist: CT.
The Imaging Modality Specialist acts as the lead tech within one or more imaging modalities: CT, Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, US, and Radiology Prep. Has technical oversight of assigned modality(ies) with respect to new implementations, quality assurance activities, and training and competency of staff. Performs job duties within scope of practice(s).
Hours: FULL TIME or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks. Days/PM as needed.
Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge of radiology standards and procedures as they relate to diagnostic Radiologic procedures normally acquired through graduation from an approved radiology school with certificate, or Associate Degree in Radiology.A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a technologist necessary to enhance and develop skills.Previous supervisory experience desired.Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, to provide effective leadership for assigned personnel, and to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with various hospital departments.Analytical skills necessary in order to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of radiographic techniques and methods, to direct day to day operations and ensure efficient scheduling.Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately 75% of work time when operating equipment, manipulating, reproducing images and dealing with patient records.State of Wisconsin Licensed Radiographer license, or in the process of obtaining.Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
