Modeling Analyst / Digital Engineer (Cameo Modeler)

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Modeling Analyst / Digital Engineer with Cameo and/or MBSE software modeling experience to join our team in the Alexandria, VA area in support of the Office of the Undersecretary for Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) Mission Integration. In this role, you will research and develop constructive architecture models of complex kill-webs/effects webs to analyze gaps and solutions for systems-of-systems/mission architectures. You will produce technical findings and architecture artifacts in written, visual, and verbal narrative products to describe capability gaps and solutions to senior leaders in OUSD (R&E). You will also contribute to developing, updating, and maintaining an architecture style guide intended to lead the broader community to standardized practices.

Responsibilities:

As a Modeling Analyst / Digital Engineer with MTSI, you will work as an integral member of a government/contractor team in support of our customer's organization. As a systems engineering team member, you will work on all aspects of systems hardware and software - from conceptual design and analysis to integration and testing. The team constructs, manages, and conducts discrete mission engineering and analysis study tasks to evaluate the efficacy of legacy architectures and new technologies and capabilities applied in new mission concepts of employment to meet evolving Joint mission objectives.

This position will be in the Alexandria, VA area with the possibility of local travel to customer sites.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

Research and develop constructive architecture models of complex kill-webs/effects webs.Conduct analysis and assessments of complex kill-webs to determine capability gaps, potential solutions, and assessment of technology’s impact on kill-web/effects web performance.Participate in concept testing and integration for experimentation assessments. Participate in system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation.Assist in transition and associated reviews of technologies to a program of record.Review system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate.Participate in the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.Providing review and analysis support to the test team development and conduct of formal testing.Brief OUSD (R&E) Senior Leaders, DoD Senior Leaders, and Mission Integration teammates on status and outcomes.

Qualifications:

Minimum six (6) years of related professional experience.Experience with the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to systems engineering.Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or Cameo Enterprise Architect. Other MBSE software experience is suitable for this position.Understanding of frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML),System Modeling Language (SysML), and the Unified Architecture Framework Modeling Language (UAFML).Possess strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment; present and explain technical-architectural information to colleagues, management, or sponsors.Possess an understanding of system interface requirements and dependencies.Knowledge or recent experience integrating systems processes and/or software development methodologies, planning, designing, and analyzing functional system processes - either hardware or software-based systems.Demonstrated ability to devise solutions for complex problems that require in-depth analysis of tangible and intangible factors.Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary project team that may include intel analysts, engineers, scientists, subject matter experts, and technicians.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.Experience with Microsoft products including Office and SharePoint.

Qualifications Desired:

Understanding of multi-segmented system architecture utilizing tools such as: MagicDraw, IBM Rational Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architecture (EA) or Cameo EA Suite.Proficient using systems engineering modeling tools (e.g., CORE, IBM, Sparx, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw or MapleMBSE) to support design, analysis, verification & validation, and continuing throughout development and later life-cycle phases.Knowledge in Java and Javascript usage and other software languages for scripting development in MBSE software applications.Understanding of configuration control and change management.Strong ability to follow Senior Leader Staff Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflow.Experience working with Science & Technology (S&T) concepts and processes.Experience conducting nodal analysis on architectures and portfolios.Experience a demonstrated record of success developing and implementing innovative solutions for a diverse range of highly complex multi-disciplinary problems and devising corrective actions where necessary.Familiarization with DoD structure, systems, and processes. 

Education Requirements:  

Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.Master's degree in systems engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience, (DESIRED).

Clearance Requirements:

Active TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) eligibility.U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
