ABOUT THIS POSITION
Join a diverse team of talented and inspired engineers and analysts developing US Army Air and Missile Defense systems in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Modeling and Simulation Analyst position supports system level Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Verification and Validation (V&V), test and associated analysis activities for the government’s Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. To keep pace with emerging technologies, the analyst uses high fidelity software to conduct V&V to provide assessments of system capabilities against a variety of world-wide threats. The analyst provides M&S analytical support for specific test phases required for fielding Army weapon systems to include ground test events, pre-flight analysis, and post-flight reconstruction, and provides comparative feedback to the government as required. The analyst develops and maintains data reduction and analysis tools and supports the Project Office in M&S technical interchange meetings, program reviews, integration and test working groups, as well as prepares for and supports meetings with analyses and reports.
This is a full-time, on contractor site position located in Huntsville, AL just outside of Redstone Arsenal Gate 9 in Redstone Gateway. The analyst works as a member of a team and spends a considerable portion of their day in a classified environment. There may be some travel, but generally little to no travel will be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or applicable STEM degree
0 - 4 years of experience with Air and Missile Defense (AMD) or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) weapons systems, data analysis, Flight/Ground tests and system modeling & simulation and/or system performance analysis
Demonstratable knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), Python, and/or MATLAB
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions and develop accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information
Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of program operations requirements
Ability to build solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in SQL, Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++
Demonstratable knowledge of VV&A methodologies, including development of sound testing methods and applicable criteria
Understand requirements management and analysis functions, including crosswalks and traceability between M&S and weapon systems
M&S design, development, integration, and test experience, with broad based knowledge of space, missile and/or launch systems at the component through system level
Demonstrate an understanding of program planning and execution, systems engineering, design processes, weapon system integration, and performance assessment
