Job Description
We seek a highly skilled Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our Strategic Systems Program (SSP) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing advanced modeling and simulation solutions, focusing on model coding, testing, verification, validation, experimentation, and reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, expertise in various modeling techniques, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to define analytic questions, problem statements, and scope boundaries that guide M&S activities.Design and develop experimentation plans, including experimental design, data collection, and analysis strategies.Develop, code, and implement high-fidelity simulation models using state-of-the-art tools and programming languages, such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and/or C++.Conduct thorough calibration, testing, verification, and validation of simulation models to ensure they meet performance, accuracy, and scalability requirements.Design and execute experimentation plans, including experimental design, data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting, to extract actionable insights from simulations.Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear, concise, and actionable reports and presentations.Essential SkillsProficiency in M&S tools and programming languages, such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and/or C++.Strong understanding of software engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and actionable insights.Experience with designing, developing, and implementing high-fidelity simulation models for complex systems.Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in modeling and simulation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field.Eligible for Secret/Top-Secret security clearance.Work Environment
Onsite requirement in Rockville, MD – 3-2-1 policy – 3 days onsite, 2 of those days have to be on Tuesday & Wednesday, then 1 day of your choosing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.75 - $74.25/hr.
