Make a Real Difference - Axient is seeking a sharp, motivated intermediate level Test Engineer to support Wargames and Exercises modeling and simulation engineering for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Directorate of Test (DT). Your typical day – Our MDA engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities on Schriever Space Force Base (SFB). Schriever SFB is located just east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colorado is certainly a hub of missile and space operations, research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts – military, government civilians, and contractors from Axient and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems.

What you will do...

This position serves as a Modeling and Simulation Engineer providing direct support to the Missile Defense Agency Directorate of Test, Wargames and Exercises Division (MDA/DTW). Tasks will include:

Execute engineering tasks associated with supporting Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises through design, build, and running modeling and simulations of missile defense systems and missile threatsExecute planning, configuring, monitoring, and implementation of Missile Defense System (MDS) parameters into simulation software such as MDASIM and EADSIM to support distributive virtual and constructive exercises modeling MDS and ballistic missile threatsSupport the technical lead in all aspects of MDS Wargames and Exercises modeling and simulationConduct System Engineering Integration and Test element pre-test coordination, event execution, pre- and post-mission testingSupport weekly planning meetings and technical working groups providing diverse network and architecture configurationsConfigure and conduct on-console support on designated modeling and simulation workstations that support CCMD and MDA MDS exercisesAssist with identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies Skills you will need...

 

Required Education/Experience:Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field7 years of recent relevant experienceEligibility to obtain at least a Secret security clearanceFamiliarity with MDASIM, OSM, EADSIM and/or other modeling and simulation softwareAbility to configure and operate Windows and LINUX workstations Self-starter, able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentBasic knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topicsWilling to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 25% of the time

 

Highly Desired Experience:

Experience with DoD test processes and/or test executionSoftware development experienceCompTIA Security+ certification
