This is the role Use computer modelling to support application development within Eastman's interlayer business and interlayer final application, leading to an optimization of the material properties and/or the interlayer structure. Application targets include acoustical performance, stiffness, impact behaviour, thermal and optical properties both on the component and the system level. Use modelling techniques to support project teams targetting to improve the quality and the capacity of both the resin production and extrusion plants. Engage across the organizations and collaborate with other research and application functions and business units to identify key unmet needs of targeted customers. Translate the identified needs into well-defined technical criteria for planning and execution of scientific projects  Development and contribution to meeting project deliverables, individually and in team settings. Communication of results through effective written documentation and oral presentations
  This is what you bring

•    PhD Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or other relevant field of study. All career levels will be considered for this role.
•    Expertise in mechanical modeling and simulation. 
•    Expertise in material characterization is also desired.
•    Broad background in structure/property relationships. 
•    Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
•    High level of initiative, with ability to work individually and in teams.
•    Experience with experimental design, data analysis and statistical tools.
