Modern Workplace Technician
Position Description:

The Modern Workplace Technician ensures optimal performance and security for employee end-user devices within a Windows 365 environment. This role involves supporting endpoint management, safeguarding devices with advanced security tools, and aligning solutions with organizational policies. The Technician actively collaborates with IT teams and end users to deliver a seamless, secure, and productive digital workplace experience.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Policy and Standards Development:
o Draft and maintain policies, standards, and procedures for modern workplace services, including device management, endpoint security, and application delivery.
• Endpoint Management:
o Administer and optimize Microsoft Intune for device and application management, including device enrollment, compliance policies, and application deployment.
o Monitor and manage configurations for Windows 365 virtual desktops, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Security Oversight:
o Implement and maintain security measures using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, ensuring advanced threat protection and compliance with organizational security standards.
o Investigate and resolve incidents related to endpoint security, including malware detection and vulnerability management.
• Operational Delivery:
o Coordinate and prioritize tasks for operational team members to ensure timely delivery of support and projects.
o Oversee and contribute to the resolution of complex incidents and service requests related to devices and workplace solutions.
• Device Lifecycle Management:
o Lead the planning, deployment, and maintenance of workstation builds and application packages.
o Ensure seamless integration of new hardware and software solutions into the existing workplace environment.
• Technical Leadership:
o Provide technical guidance to junior team members and operational staff, fostering skill development in modern workplace technologies.
o Validate detailed technical designs and ensure their alignment with business requirements.
• Monitoring and Maintenance:
o Monitor endpoint performance and ensure proactive maintenance of systems and services.
o Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to implement preventative measures and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Client and Business Engagement:
o Act as a key resource in client development activities, advising on endpoint management and security solutions.
o Support the integration of client-specific applications and workplace tools into the organization's ecosystem.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Technical Skills:
o Proficient in Microsoft Intune for device and application management.
o Expertise in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and other advanced security tools.
o Strong understanding of Windows 365 and related cloud-based workplace technologies.
o Experience with software distribution, patch management, and compliance enforcement.
o Troubleshooting skills for PCs, mobile devices, network connectivity, and cloud applications.
• Customer Service:
o Excellent customer-facing skills, ensuring end users receive timely and effective support.
o Proficiency in remote support tools such as Microsoft Quick Assist and similar platforms.
• Certifications (preferred):
o Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
o Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
o CompTIA A+ or similar certifications
