Purpose of Position:
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage the Videojet engineering team in Zhuhai China. This position will be responsible for managing a team of engineers to ensure sustainment of products, with a goal of exceeding customer expectations around safety, quality, and delivery, and will require close collaboration with Operations, and other Videojet R&D teams around the world. The position demands both technical expertise and team leadership
Essential Functions:
Manage the engineering resources to develop new features, maintenance of the line, as well as modifications of the current product offering.Lead and architect design and implementation of product design changes, and make technical decisionsManage and prioritize project pipelineRecruit, select, develop and effectively align engineering talent to optimize skills against development needs.Creates annual performance objectives and development plans for staff members to help them achieve their potential and career goals. Inspires the team to greatnessWork effectively with other Videojet global engineering teamsDevelop, monitor and manage multiple projects throughout the product lifecycle and across countries and time zonesHands-on, proactive project management of project plans, scope, deliverables, dependenciesSet and maintain a detailed timeline and milestones for every projectEnsure on-time execution with high qualityIdentify risks, and develop mitigation strategiesUtilize Veralto Enterprise Systems tools for Project management, such as Visual Project Management, Daily Management, and Speed Design ReviewEducation, Background and Skill Requirements:
CET-6 or above, excellent oral and written English is the essential requirementBachelor’s degree (Master is a plus) in engineering related discipline, preferable electrical or mechanical.5+ years in a product development or sustaining engineering3+ years of experience managing a technical team with direct and indirect reports; demonstrated leadership skillsExperience working in a large multi-national company is preferred.Broad understanding of products and processes, including design, manufacturing, and market use of products. Experience in international project managementExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with cross-functional groupsMust be Hands-on/Detail orientated, and technically savvyDemonstrate the ability to think critically and collaboratively to resolve project roadblocksDemonstrated strong leadership ability in very lean but demanding and sometimes challenging environmentExperience with manufacturing and suppliersSuccessful traits that VJ R&D team is looking for:
