Job DescriptionBuild new mold tooling components, tools, fixtures, and machined parts based on blueprints, sketches, and general instructions.
Perform final fitting operations, re-venting, and adjustments on current molds during repairs.
Maintain and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on shop machines and equipment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
1. Makes repairs to injection molds, fabrication of new molds and other tooling using machine shop tools and software programming.
2. Determines proper mold and component fitments using precision measuring equipment and tools.
3. Performs root cause investigations, analyzes results/data associated with production tooling and provides corrective action recommendations and next steps. Also focuses on preventive action solutions.
4. Responsible for tracking of time and resources spent on projects.
5. Performs repairs on molding tooling as directed.
6. Provides project leadership and guidance to team members.
7. Collaborates with team members and provides guidance on projects and tasks in support of proper use of machine tools and tooling/component construction.
8. Trains others in the proper use of machine tools and tooling/component construction.
9. Coordinates tooling activities as requested.
10. Polish cavities and cores to specified finishes.
11. Maintains a clean and safe work area with emphasis on LEAN 5S.
12. Performs other related duties and tasks, as required

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education equivalent to a High School diploma with nine years of previous tooling experience.
• Experience and knowledge in the operation of CNC milling machines, CNC EDM’s, Surface Tool and Cutter grinders, and other machines used in a mold shop.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, Master Cam, Solid Works, and other applicable software programs.
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Knowledge of various tooling and testing equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
COMPETENCIES
