Role and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for mold changes & auxiliary/set up functions in assigned area.Based on schedule, set-up all job orders and perform mold changes.Load and position tools into presses and perform changeovers.Set-up secondary equipment such as heat controllers, thermolators and chillers.Responsible for maintenance and cleaning of machines and grease pit as needed.Perform preventive maintenance on molds as required before removing.Inspect molds for defects. Store and clean molds properly.Complete change over sheets after completion of each mold change. Maintain any necessary documentation.Report issues to supervisor in regard to production, quality and safety, make suggestions on improvement.Safely use forklifts and other equipment needed for job task.Observe all safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.Additional Responsibilities (thermoforming)Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and work instructions to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operationPrograms, positions, and secures molds and fixtures to ensure proper operation providing quality parts.Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change molds or fixtures, or adjust machine settings for multiple passes.Responsible for first and tenth part approval and in process inspection and documentation.Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors.Assist and train operators on proper procedures in regard to inspection and safe operation of machines.Responsible for investigating and correcting high scrap rate production or other production related issues and to provide controls to prevent another occurrence of the problem.Qualifications and Education RequirementsHigh School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredMinimum of 6 months’ plastic industry experience preferredExperience using a forklift preferredMust obtain and maintain a valid forklift license to hold positionAll required WilbertU Courses based on job titlePreferred SkillsAbove average math skillsAttention to detail and organizationGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate information to other employees and other departmentsAbility to respond to common inquiries and transfer knowledge to others.Able to work well with others with minimal supervisionKnowledge of the molding process and the properties of the material processedAbility to operate overhead craneStrong problem-solving skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to successful maneuver and operate a forklift truckMold and machine maintenance skills beneficial
