Responsibilities Exhibit leadership skills, develop and apply training skills, use problem-solving abilities to handle situations that may arise in the workplace, motivate and communicate with Packer / Handlers, alert Mold Techs and Shift Supervisor of safety, quality, machine, raw material, packaging, documentation or production concernsReview the production schedule pro-actively; ensuring machines are running production to customer specifications and by the approved first shot procedureChange materials and colors as required minimizing scrap and downtimeStart-up, shutdown, adjust for specification injection molding machines and secondary equipmentRespond to quality control personnel by adjusting machines to keep product in specProper use of lock-out/tag-out proceduresUnderstand all duties and responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor in case of an absenceCoordinate with quality control, maintenance, and supervisor concerning machine operations and any malfunctionsCollect and inspect accurate operator reports that will be given to the Shift SupervisorAssure all required paperwork is completely filled out on a daily basis; i.e. daily process records, machine cleaning, etcCommunicate with incoming Team Leader detailing problems with molding machines, automation, etcResponsible for ensuring safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are maintained in the production departmentOversee the starting and stopping of molding machines and related production equipment, ensuring they are operating within safety and process standardsIncoming-Inspect your cell upon arrival and making request of off-going Team Leader in the event issues need to be taken care of to insure a smooth transitionOutgoing-Review the shift happenings with the incoming Team Leader and honor any of their requests to provide a smooth transitionKeep the Shift Supervisor informed of any personnel issues relating to team effectivenessProvide feedback to department associates concerning their safety and job-related responsibilitiesKnow and conduct quick start-up and shut-down emergency proceduresCoordinate and give breaks (lunch) to Packer / HandlersOversee housekeeping and safety standards in the Molding DepartmentAny other tasks as assignedMust be available to work overtime daily as well as weekends and holidays as required to maintain production per Customer requirements

Qualifications Must be able to perform the functions of Packer / Handler or have previous manufacturing experienceMust be able to be on feet (standing, walking) for entire shift, excluding breaks; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and be able to tolerate repetitive hand labor 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Previous manufacturing experience; able and willing to multi-task while paying attention to detail; good communication skills
