Molding Technician - 3rd Shift

JOB SUMMARY

The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for providing hands on support for the changeover, production, maintenance and continuous operation of the molding machines and molds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – includes the following:

Set up, start up, and change over production jobs consistent with process control capabilities and quoted standards. May include robotics, part pickers and vision systems Use proper process procedure documentation and databases for performing routine set up functions and troubleshooting workPerform machine start-up, shut-down, color changes, and any necessary processing changes to ensure that the machines are running at the proper efficiency and that the product is in conformanceEvaluate molding processes and tooling in order to update techniques and improve quality, safety and productivity efficiencies.  Ensure the processes fall within validated windows or within the established guidelines. Communicate important information to molding department on next shiftWork with production group to meet production demandsOptimize molds for cycle timesSetup and operate job related equipment including molding machines, lift trucks, overhead cranes, and power mold cartsOther duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS 

Ability to operate overhead crane following all safety standards. Must have injection molding set-up experience with process trouble shooting. Must support safety policies and practices that apply to assigned area. Strong math skills and ability to calculate averages, ratios, and percents. Ability to learn and perform all team jobs. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with people. Ability to obtain a fork truck license. Ability to learn basic PM and minor machine adjustment. Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal). Must be self motivated and have the ability to interpret data for corrective actions. Demonstrated positive performance record. Strong aptitude to effectively train others. Flexible to work ALL SHIFTS and overtime as required.

OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Computer Skills:  Proficiency on computer and software packages.High degree of flexibility and ability to work with multiple and changing priorities.

SALARY RANGE:
$23.80 – $25.76 per hour
