The Precision Diagnostics Laboratory at the Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) performs next-generation sequencing (NGS) and has recently expanded offerings for both oncologic and constitutional genetic testing to include whole exome and whole genome testing. On-campus collaborations exist with the Colorado Molecular Correlates Laboratory, which performs clinical molecular testing with an adult oncology focus at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), and the Colorado Genetics Laboratory, which performs all campus cytogenetic testing. The University of Colorado also offers a Molecular Genetic Pathology fellowship with fellows rotating through the Precision Diagnostics Laboratory at CHCO. This position includes an academic appointment at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.Hematopathology services at both CHCO and UCH see the full spectrum of hematopoietic diseases, reviewing bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometric studies, peripheral blood smears, lymph nodes, and other tissues and body fluids. At both campuses, external consultations are reviewed. Other responsibilities include participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, covering after hours and weekend call in rotation with other pathologists, and education of trainees.
