**Molecular Pathologist/Hematopathologist (Assistant Professor)** **Description** **University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus** **Department of Pathology** **Molecular Pathologist/Hematopathologist (Assistant Professor)** **Position #00833069: - Requisition #36587:** **Job Summary:** **Nature of Work:** Employment Expectations: + Full time joint appointment in the CUSOM (1.0 FTE) with: + 75% appointment at CHCO to cover Molecular pathology (50%) and Hematopathology (25%) + 25% appointment at UCH to cover Hematopathology + Provide clinical consultation to peers in pathology, colleagues in other subspecialties at Multidisciplinary Conferences (MDC), and others in subspecialty areas of anatomic pathology. + Engage in teaching activities, including small and large group didactic conferences, one on one teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. + Engage in scholarship, as broadly defined in the matrix of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The Precision Diagnostics Laboratory at the Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) performs next-generation sequencing (NGS) and has recently expanded offerings for both oncologic and constitutional genetic testing to include whole exome and whole genome testing. On-campus collaborations exist with the Colorado Molecular Correlates Laboratory, which performs clinical molecular testing with an adult oncology focus at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), and the Colorado Genetics Laboratory, which performs all campus cytogenetic testing. The University of Colorado also offers a Molecular Genetic Pathology fellowship with fellows rotating through the Precision Diagnostics Laboratory at CHCO. This position includes an academic appointment at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.Hematopathology services at both CHCO and UCH see the full spectrum of hematopoietic diseases, reviewing bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometric studies, peripheral blood smears, lymph nodes, and other tissues and body fluids. At both campuses, external consultations are reviewed. Other responsibilities include participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, covering after hours and weekend call in rotation with other pathologists, and education of trainees. The Department of Pathology also sponsors a hematopathology fellowship training program. - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
