Responsibilities Continuous Monitoring: Observe and interpret cardiac rhythms and other vistal signs on telemetry monitors. Identify any deviations from the norm and respond promptly. Posts monitor strips and 24-hour trends as directed daily. Accurate rhythm interpretation. Alarm Response: Immediately notify nursing staff or appropriate personnel of any critical changes in patient status Documentation: Accurately document cardiac rhythms, events, and any interventions in the patient's medical record as per hospital policy Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that telemetry equipment is functioning correctly and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate department Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and other technicians. Confidentiality: Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA and other confidentiality policies Professional Accountability: Independently seeks out other job-related experiences to enhance knowledge base. Timely completion of assigned education and annual competencies. Actively engaged in unit-based councils and performance improvement. Recognizes unit needs and works to facilitate solutions. Qualifications Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of cardiac rhythms and medical terminology. Proficiency in using telemetry and other monitoring equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have completed Medical Terminology course Competencies Skills Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members Able To Withstand Crisis Situations Has Skills to Provides Customer Service to Patients, Team Members and Visitors Knowledge And Experience with Electronic Health Records Credentials BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification Education High school graduate or equivalent Entry USD $17.25/Hr. Expert USD $26.74/Hr.
