Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

1. Supports the nursing process through the consent of the cardiac rhythm of patients assigned to
telemetry monitoring. 
2. Monitor the patient’s EKG rhythms, alerting the Nurse to changes in cardiac rate of rhythm. 
3. Document EKG rhythms for patients assigned on the medical record, or other records.
4. Maintain monitoring equipment in good working order.
5. Monitor patients via remote monitoring 
6. Redirect patients to keep free from falls
7. Recognize lethal and life-threatening arrhythmias and respond appropriately. 
8. Demonstrates competency in, but not limited to, the following on the Telemetry Unit (refer to
McLeod Health Organizational Learning Competency Checklist):

9. Provide an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients,
families, and visitors.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: PRN as needed; as scheduled including weekends and holidays (not benefit eligible)

Education/Certification: Completion of an EKG training course required
