About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Monitoring & Evaluation Officer to join our Sustainability team. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure data-driven decisions that enhance the impact of our sustainability initiatives in the cocoa industry. The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer supports the development, implementation, and enhancement of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure data-driven decision-making and adherence to project goals. Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality M&E outputs that align with organizational and project-specific objectives. The role offers growth opportunities, exposure to innovative approaches, and impactful contributions to sustainability initiatives in the cocoa industry. This is based in Kumasi and reports to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and roll out of Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks, guidelines, plans or tools to guide quality Monitoring and Evaluation in the projects. Regularly review Monitoring and Evaluation plans, tools and other documents such as results matrices, reporting templates etc., as may be necessary in coordination with relevant colleagues or partners Conduct periodic Field visits to project sites, to ascertain and promote adherence to agreed standards and timelines of implementation, create greater awareness of reporting Prepare periodic internal reports by providing Monitoring and Evaluation data and content, ensuring that results are aligned to indicators outlined in results matrices and that reports are results based to improve quality of reporting Provide feedback to project managers for program revisions and amendments based on monitoring or evaluation findings Contribute towards the strengthening and deepening of monitoring and evaluation functions in Sustainability through regular monitoring checks of projects. Provide capacity building on Monitoring and Evaluation to field staff including through training, mentorship, coaching and sharing of information Assist with materials development in the form of program theory and logic models, monitoring and evaluation data collection instruments, training manuals and presentations Play a lead role in projects involving other contracted evaluators and researchers.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Development Studies, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or other related social sciences. Minimum 3 years’ experience in the cocoa industry of Ghana and a Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage. Strong knowledge of logic models, indicators, and data analysis Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage diverse stakeholders; additional local languages are an advantage Proficient in MS Office application and in data analysis tools (e.g. Python, Power BI). Proven track record in implementing M&E frameworks and tools. Ability to work in diverse environments and occasionally in challenging field conditions. Ability to manage a diverse team of professionals and proven organizational skills, including time-management Willing to travel upcountry (estimated 40%-60% of the time) Familiar with sustainability practices and stakeholder engagement in the cocoa industry. Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities Detail-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
