PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Mortgage Appraisal Coordinator at our San Antonio, Texas or Irving, Texas service center. The Appraisal Coordinator responsibilities include understanding credit union, industry, and regulatory appraisal fulfillment standards & requirements are met. Will support daily processes including appraisal ordering and follow up to assist mortgage lending operations.
Responsibilities

+ Ensure all appraisal orders are placed timely, scheduling completed within SLA and the return of the collateral valuations completed within agreed to cycle times.
+ Supports invoice reconciliation to ensure timely payment on VA appraisals.
+ Evaluate processes for efficiencies and quality to notify Manager of any improvement opportunities.
+ Ensures compliance with company policy and AIR regulations/requirements when applicable.
+ Orders HELOC, Conventional, FHA and VA Mortgage valuation products via appraisal management platforms(s) with focus on promptness and accuracy.
+ Communicate with appraisal vendors regularly to ensure orders are delivered timely and accurately.
+ Monitor and track progression of assigned appraisal orders in a pipeline.
+ Deliver daily status reports to management.
+ Communicate status changes and updates to loan officers and loan processors.
+ Coordinate with internal staffing and appraisal vendors in solving for any challenges or roadblocks in the processing and/or delivering of appraisal orders.
+ Maintain a good working relationship with the Appraisal Management Companies.
+ Track all completed services to assist in the creation of monthly business reviews.
+ Respond to general inquiries and escalations from sales, fulfillment, and management on appraisal ordering services and processes.
+ May perform other duties based on business need.
+ Ability to understand current Non-Agency/Agency/PenFed guidelines. Assist with maintaining PenFed’s compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances by abiding by PenFed compliance program and all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
+ Maintain current knowledge of all internal policies and procedures; stay up to date with changing GSE/VA/Non-agency guidelines and policies.
*This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.*
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
+ Experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential functions.
+ Minimum of one (1) year experience of in-house national appraisal support within the mortgage industry.
+ Familiarity of appraisals, AVMs, and desktop products.
+ Familiarity and experience with appraisal requirements of different loan types: Conforming, VA, FHA, and non-conforming loan products.
+ History of working with AMCs is preferred.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
+ Excellent communication skills, including written and oral.
+ Work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating within a team setting.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications
There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*
Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
