Mortgage Operations Analyst

The Residential Loan Operations team is seeking a driven and motivated professional to join as a Mortgage Loan Operations Analyst. The Operations team supports a broad investment strategy focused on residential real estate credit for over 15 years. The Mortgage Loan Operations Analyst will manage the day-to-day operations of 35,000+ loans across Neuberger Berman’s portfolios, including trading operations, servicing transfers, data reconciliation, and reporting to senior management. This role provides opportunities to grow within the Operations team and take on increasing responsibilities over time, working closely with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Trading, and Finance.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Interface with mortgage loan sellers to receive, load, and reconcile mortgage loan data. Ensure all data is fully reconciled and accurate before sending to the Portfolio Management team for analysis
+ Coordinate mortgage loan collateral file delivery to a Document Custodian. Work with the Document Custodian to ensure all files are delivered and in good standing. Collaborate with mortgage loan sellers to locate and deliver any missing or deficient documents
+ Utilize proprietary software to generate trading documentation and send it to the appropriate parties, including mortgage sellers, the Document Custodian, the fund administrator, and the trustee. Verify information in each document to ensure accuracy and work with the NB Legal team to execute trading documents
+ Coordinate the servicing transfer of mortgage loans after trades settle. This includes working with mortgage loan sellers and NB’s servicers to initiate and track the transfer, complete 404 notices, transfer ownership on the MERS system, and reconcile payment activity during the servicing transfer process. Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting team to ensure all interim servicing payments are received. Track all activities in NB’s proprietary software system
+ After trade settlement, coordinate delivery of due diligence data from third-party vendors and load it into our proprietary software system.
+ Annually, work with the Legal team to refresh corporate due diligence documentation from mortgage loan sellers and servicers
+ Provide assistance to the Operations, Trading, and Finance teams for servicing-related items, such as trading operations, remittance reconciliation, and legal agreements
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field
+ 0–2 years of experience in the mortgage loan industry or a similar industry. New graduates will be considered for this position
+ Demonstrated ability to manage large datasets, perform complex reconciliation activities, and learn the general aspects of the mortgage loan business
+ Strong MS Excel skills are required (Excel proficiency will be evaluated during the interview process)
+ Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail is essential
+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $65,000-$85,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
