Job Overview The incumbent performs inspections, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and performance testing on emergency response vehicles. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Performs preventative maintenance and repair work on emergency vehicles. Completes purchase orders, parts request/credit issue forms and receiving reports as needed to maintain an up-to-date inventory of parts and supplies. Evaluates, diagnoses and performs maintenance and repair of work requests including all preventative maintenance. Determines the extent of repairs required. Replaces work or broken engine and other associated parts. Rebuilds carburetors and performs other assorted repairs within scope of maintenance capabilities. Repairs fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. Performs various mobile maintenance functions to include jumpstarts, fuel system bleeding and flat tire changes/repairs. Ensures general upkeep of the vehicle maintenance garage and equipment. Trains personnel on operation and upkeep of equipment. Adheres to safety policies and procedures. Wears personal protective equipment at all times. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum Level II qualifications, IAW National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1071, Standard for Emergency Vehicle Technician Professional Qualifications. Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.  Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.  Valid Alabama state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.   Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.   U.S. Citizenship.   Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).     Reasonable Accommodation: It is CGS, LLC business philosophy and practice to provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
