Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will operate and perform maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks. You will operate vehicles for regularly established schedules over public roads at highway speeds to transport passengers, patients, supplies, materials, or equipment and tools or tow equipment throughout rural or urban areas. You will secure the cargo with tie down ropes or a tarpaulin to protect the load, and mark dangerous or protruding cargo with flags, placards, or reflection lights and certify the condition of items and obtain signatures from receiving personnel. You will operate dump trucks to haul earth, gravel, sand, and similar construction materials or debris such as logs, stumps, and stone over roads, streets, and through open field areas and over difficult terrain. You will operate vehicles with special purpose accessory equipment and power takeoff devices to transfer engine power to the equipment and operate a variety of controls and equipment gauges (e.g. winch on a flatbed truck). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the WG-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Operates and performs maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks, which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and up to 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Recruitment incentives MAY be authorized to eligible new hires. Relocation incentives MAY be authorized. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
