Responsibilities Transport large groups of people on trips where day and night driving are involved. Ensures the safe travel of passengers Drives various types of motor vehicles weighing from 10,000 to 26,000 pounds to transport personnel, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions. Fills out driver's accident report in case of accidents. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualifications: Applicant must posses a valid drivers license issued by the state in which employed for the type of vehicle(s) to be driven. Must have 15 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate. Skill and Knowledge: Knowledge of height, weight, width, and length of vehicle in order to judge overhead and side clearances, turning radius and braking distance. Knowledge of safety rules and traffic regulations. Knowledge on how to properly load, unload, arrange, and tow cargo. Skill in selecting the shortest and safest route. Ability to recognize hazardous conditions. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
