Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. · When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. · Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. May assist physician with performing biopsies. · Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. · Participates in ensuring compliance with the ACR regulations and applicable accreditations. · Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures. · Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. · Enters, transmits, and reports scan results. · Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining inventory in a cost effective manner. · Checks daily schedules to assure staffing is adequate, orders are available and correct. · Responsible for interacting with the Imaging physician to assure all quality measures are accurate. · Assists in development of policy and procedures for MRI department.. · Responsible for MRI safety education. · Responsible for charging and putting exams in taken status upon completion. · Responsible for transmitting images to PACS and burning CD as necessary. · Orients new staff members to department. Based upon performance, skills and attitude of staff, makes recommendations for promotions or disciplinary actions. · Responsible for scanning appropriate paperwork via scanner to PACS upon completion on exam. *Education: *Associate's Degree required. *License/Certification:* A.R.R.T., MRI, and BLS are required. *Experience:* At least two (2) years of MRI experience required.
