Position Overview:
The MRI Patient Access Representative is responsible for all aspects of the registration process, patient collections, and scanning documents into the EMR system.
Essential Functions:
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication within 24 hours of the request. Effectively collecting patient co pays for their visit or collecting patient balance as needed.Maintain departmental goals and productivity parameters as set forth by Director of Operations.Assist patients with all possible needs, filling out paperwork, questions or concerns regarding insurance, or balances. Covers co-workers and cross trains as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.Utilize PowerShare system to send and accept exams from outside facilities. Burn cds for patients while following appropriate HIPAA requirements in medical release requirementsAccept faxes and emails with outside facility reports, upload to patient chart and communicate status to patient care team.Communicates effectively with all levels - patients, co-workers, supervisors and physicians, both verbally and in writing.Schedule – MRI, CT and DXAs along with the appropriate follow-ups necessaryInterpreterCall transfer kept to a minimum – help in the moment, know who to transfer toSupply restockingAuthorization checking – 2 days in advanceDepartment safety and MRI safety trainingKnowledge on what specialties we have and who is in what specialty Assist team members as needed. Other duties as assigned. RequirementsKnowledge/Skills Abilities Required
High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Years of medical office or customer service experience preferred.Excellent computer skills.Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills.Ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of EMR system is a plus. Type at least 40 WPM. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements. Position hours will vary. Evening and Saturday shifts may be required.Physical and/or Mental Requirements
