MRI Tech - CMDI
Overview The MRI Tech provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. They are responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team. Responsibilities Job Description Performs MRI Examinations Applies advanced understanding of imaging techniques, disease processes and application of quantitative and quantification formulas and procedures. Reexamines questionnaire data Performs exams with technical accuracy and in a timely manner Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images Completes communication of pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the exam Positions patient appropriately to achieve quality diagnostic images. Verifies patient identification and documentation Communicates with and educates the patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the exam Completes IV insertion and monitors IV while patient is having exam Assures MRI patient safety guidelines are demonstrated and enforced Ensures patient data integrity Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and file jacket transfers in a timely manger Accurate image identification and jacket preparation or digital image manipulation and archiving Participates as an active team member Orients and mentors new employees Participates in improvement initiatives Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position Cleans and maintains patient areas, supplies and equipment Accepts unique customer service expectations in imaging Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to dept guidelines Accepts new technology as it is introduced into the work environment MR Safety Officer Duties Create, maintain, and communicate all MR safety related policies and procedures Acts as a liaison to radiology leadership and radiologists to determine best practices for each site for MR safety. Works directly with technologists to ensure consistent MR safety guidelines are being followed Research & confirms active implants ensuring technologists understand the conditions they must follow. Tracks code blue drills at staffed sites and runs them annually. Applications Specialist Duties Works with the Radiologist groups to ensure protocols are up to date Ensures the scanners have the most up to date and optimized protocols Creates consistency among the scanners for image quality Works with the Techs to educate and create consistency in knowledge among our staff Organization Expectations, as applicable: Demonstrates Commitment to Customers Is aware of different customer needs/desires.
