The decision to build an advanced, vibrant facility, constructed across the street from the previous St Joseph hospital, aligns with Lutheran Health Network's goals to stay downtown and remain an active participant in its success. The size of this facility reflects the growth in services being offered in outpatient settings as medical technologies advance. The facility was built with space to accommodate future growth to as many as 100 beds, based on the community's needs. Lutheran Downtown Hospital includes a 19-bed Emergency Department, operating suites, two gastroenterology suites, imaging services, robotic-assisted surgery and laboratory services. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body. + Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination. + Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor. + Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. + Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). + Ensures equipment is properly functioning.
