MRI Technical Assistant

As the MRI Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. Ensures documentation and patient records are prepared and organized. Ensures patients have a clear understanding of what to expect during and after their appointment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
+ Will perform patient registration in various systems.
+ Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
+ May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtaining prior authorization.
+ May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, which may include medical history.
+ May transport patients to/from the exam room.
+ Will maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Will ensure accuracy of patient records.
+ May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.
+ Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations.
+ Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Organizational and multitasking skills.
+ Solid knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Preferred:
+ CPR Certification is a plus.
+ Six months customer service or related experience and/or training.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
+ Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
