MRI Technologist

Under the general direction of the Site MRI Manager, and according to specific hospital Radiologist policy and procedures, performs various procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision.  Performs a variety of procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity, an initiative in the operation of MRI equipment necessary for security imaging of various portions of the both for use in diagnosis of diseases of injury.  The MRI Technologist will also assist in the training of new MRI technologist.

A thorough knowledge of current MRI pulsing protocols, equipment operation and maintenance.  Interpersonal ability to interact with patients peers, supervisory personnel, hospital staff, students, and all visitors.  Physical ability required for prolonged periods of standing and walking as well as some lifting.  Ability to display good judgement in all aspects of the imaging procedures as well as independent thinking and ingenuity.  Level of knowledgeable acquired through completion of formal training in an accredited school of radiologic technology.  Registration by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist.  Six to twelve months experience as a Radiologic Technologist is a a highly technical component of radiology, preferably with CT experience.
