Get to Know Your Team: Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more. Responsibilities Responsible for assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care in the performance of all Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations and adherence to MRI safety rules. Explains MRI procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner. Performs MRI procedures ascertaining appropriate imaging parameters are utilized, providing physician with a quality diagnostic procedure. Adheres to MRI safety rules ensuring the safety of patients, visitors and staff members. Provides minimal nursing care to patient, ascertaining the patient is comfortable in the department. Seeks additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary. Transports patients to and from Imaging Services ascertaining that the patient is relocated without injury or incident. Maintains MRI procedure rooms and work area in a clean and organized manner. Maintains effective communication with medical staff, administrative staff, nursing staff and other team members. Performs quality control on equipment and notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment. Ascertains the delivery of patient care is provided in a personalized, professional and quality manner. Ascertains that Joint Commission, local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies’ requirements are met. Assists in the Quality Assurance / Improvement Program of Imaging Services. Enters and retrieves patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System in a proficient manner. Maintains MRI procedure rooms and work area in a clean and organized manner. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or through American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association Preferred Job Requirements: Previous employment as a MRI Technologist
