Job Title: MRI Technologist
Job Summary: Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation
and/or intervention while adhering to MRI safety principles. Minimum 3 years experience.

• Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/orintervention.
• Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
• Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
• Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
• Positions patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
• Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is
demonstrated.
• Applies principles of MRI safety to patients, self, and others.
• Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipmentto prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
• Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
Orders supplies and contrast or informs ordering personnel of supplies needed. Calls for service and informs supervisor immediately if equipment malfunctions. Maintain an organized and clean work area as well as the break room. Compliant with dress code and wears name badge at all times.Physical Demands:
Normal physical ability; may require some bending, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds unassisted, pushing and/or assistance to patients as well as long periods of sitting. Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making. High level of verbal and written communication. Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Occupational Exposure:
High risk to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards.Working Conditions
The Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and bloodborne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases and dusts. Frequent exposures to distressed patient, families or visitors. Ability to work in a high magnetic field up to 3.0 Tesla (any implanted device must meet 3.0 Tesla limits).Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent CT and MRI certified Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI procedures Strong team player Strong customer service skills Basic computer proficiency Knowledge of PACS systems helpful 3 years of experience in a similar role required Education/Training• Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology or;
• Graduate of accredited school of Sonography or;
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
Licensure/Certification
• Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or;
• Valid American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or;
• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
