MRI Technologist Senior | West Penn Hospital

Sign on Bonus Eligible: $10,000 (2 year commitment)

GENERAL OVERVIEW:  

This position performs prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of staff and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison
 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES  

Performs all essential job responsibilities of a MRI Technologist, including but not limited to, performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members. Addresses patient and physician concerns. Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status.  (50%) Acts as a day-to-day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department. Orients and trains new staff and students.  (20%) Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation. (10%) Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency. Enter new or edit existing MRI scanner protocols. (10%) Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups. (5%) Coverage of chief tech duties, as assigned. (5%) Performs other duties, as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Required 

Associate degree in healthcare or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience. CPR – American Heart Association. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
