MRI Technologist Team Lead

Description:The MRI Technologist Lead is essential for delivering high-quality diagnostic MRI scans and guiding a team of technologists. This role combines mentorship with hands-on responsibilities, empowering the team to provide exceptional patient care while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

What the MRI Technologist Lead will Do:

MRI Scanning and Patient Care:

Perform a variety of MRI examinations per departmental, state, and federal guidelines.Properly position patients and monitor their comfort and safety throughout procedures.Administer contrast and barium solutions as directed by Radiologists.

Team Leadership:

Coordinate daily operations, manage staff scheduling, and oversee workflow within the MRI unit.Provide guidance and mentorship to x-ray students and staff.Participate in the hiring process and contribute to performance evaluations.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Engage in ongoing quality monitoring, data collection, and compliance with accreditation standards.Collaborate with Clinical Engineering to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations.Develop and revise departmental policies and protocols in consultation with Radiologists and management.

Education and Development:

Assess educational needs of staff and facilitate training programs.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MRI safety concepts and advancements in technology.Support research initiatives and evaluate equipment and resources.

Communication and Collaboration:

Foster effective communication and teamwork across departments to enhance patient experiences.Serve as a consultant for leadership, staff, and healthcare team members on MRI-related issues.

Operational Efficiency:

Contribute to budget development and monitor departmental supplies and services.Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction.

What the MRI Technologist Lead will Need:

Required:

Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology Program, or an MRI-specific curriculumCurrently registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)MRI certificationBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Certification or re-certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire3 or more years' experience as a staff technologist in specific imaging modality.

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree3-5 years of supervisory experience in a Radiology imaging modalityAbility to interpret and monitor EKG tracings

What the MRI Technologist Lead will Work:

Full Time, 40 hours per weekDay shift, 8 hour shifts primarily days but may require some night, weekend or on-call coverage
