As a valued member of the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) team, you will play a key role in both the design and implementation of key scientific experiments while exploiting new cutting-edge technologies such as mRNA manufacturing. As you become more experienced in our laboratory, you will over time take full ownership of a range of scientific projects which will gradually widen in scope as you develop your skills in project management. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop your team skills by working within a very collaborative atmosphere. At the same time, we will ensure that you are well-equipped with the scientific and project management expertise, which will be necessary to make a successful start to your pharmaceutical career at one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. Join the MS&T team in Kundl and play a central role in delivering for Novartis patients both in Austria and around the world. About the Role

Main Accountabilities

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Independently plan, organize, perform and document analytical experiments/ under minimal supervision

- Take over responsibility for and utilize analytical equipment or specialized facilities as an expert; schedule and perform maintenance and qualification of instruments

- Work according to appropriate standards for quality, ethics, health, safety, environment protection, and information security as well as lead initiatives to ensure continuous improvement

- Documentation of raw data, evaluation and interpretation of results; propose and actively support the design of next experiments

- Write protocols, scientific reports or lab procedures based on templates or SOPs under minimal supervision

- Develop new methods or optimize existing laboratory methods and contribute to the development and implementation of new technologies

- Perform information and literature searches under minimal guidance while actively fostering knowledge exchange

- Participate in function-specific sub teams and fulfil assigned project tasks as well as responsibilities under supervision – tasks which will include the approval of experiments performed by others

What support you will bring to the role:

Essential:

- Master of Science with 1 year of relevant experience / Bachelor of Science with 3 years relevant experience / Apprenticeship in industry (or equivalent technical education) with 10 years relevant experience

- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English

- Good theoretical and scientific knowledge in the relevant area of expertise

- Proficient with laboratory and/or technical equipment

- Good knowledge of software and computer tools

- Good documentation and presentation skills

- Basic scientific/technical writing skills

Desirable:

- Professional proficiency in spoken and written German

- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry

For this position the minimum salary is €58,199.96 per year (on a full-time basis).
