Job Description
The Medical Science Liaison serves to advance science and standards of care for patients, healthcare providers and payers, and ensure they can access all the practical and clinically relevant information and solutions they need to use AbbVie’s products efficiently and safely. The field-based Medical Science Liaison focuses on medical and scientific engagement with AbbVie stakeholders (including research and healthcare professionals, payers, and providers).
Key responsibilities:
The MSL role is covering the western territory of Switzerland, Bern and SolothurnProvide scientific and medical information to healthcare professionals regarding hematology assets in a non-promotional highly scientific mannerDeliver credible scientific presentations and participate in scientific meetings and conferences related to hematologyEstablish and maintain good relationships with key thought leaders and experts in the field of hematologyCollaborate with internal cross-functional teams to support scientific dialogue, exchange and internal training. Gather and communicate field intelligence, including competitor research and medical strategies, within the companyStay updated on the latest scientific advancements and clinical data in hematology researchSupport the development and execution of educational initiatives and research collaborations in the hematology therapeutic areaAssist in the initiation, oversight, and follow-up of clinical studies and medical projects related to hematology, serve as a point of contact for thought leaders to facilitate investigator-initiated study ideas and requests for supportEnsure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and company policies in all activities and interactionsQualifications
University degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant scientific disciplineExpertise in developing and maintaining expert knowledge and excellent skills to build up a network, preferably in the therapeutic area of hematological malignancies.Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison, preferably with direct experience within the Hematology area Ability to comprehensively learn about new subject areas and environmentsExcellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with thought leaders, physicians and other healthcare decision makersStrong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrityBusiness fluent in French & German.
